30 May 2011: Silver Dragon Award at Krakow

Krakow IFF logo Last night we won a silver dragon award at the Krakow International Film Festival for Baby. We were really excited to get the news as this festival means a lot to us, Daniel having been awarded the UIP award there in the past for Dad and being nominated for a European Academy Award. Thankfully Laura was able to jump on a plane to be there for the ceremony, deliver Daniel's message of thanks and to collect the award (which she was then able to convince security to let her back on the plane with to take home).

So far Baby has got into 37 International Film Festivals, nominated 12 times from which it has won 8 awards.

28 Jan 2011: Sundance Review

Here's what they're saying at Sundance 2011.

6 Dec 2010: From BIFA to Sundance

BIFA winners on the sofa

We were thrilled to receive a BIFA for best short film last night at a sumptuous ceremony at Old Billingsgate. Daniel and I are delighted, and just when we thought there could be no better news to end the year with, we had the amazing news that Baby has got into competition at Sundance too! A week of January sales to look for snow suits perhaps?

23 Nov 2010: THE MILTON SHULMAN AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING NEWCOMER

Congratulations to Daniel Kaluuya who features in the Evening Standard Theatre Awards 2010 shortlist

15 Nov 2010: Great news from Cork

The International Jury awards Baby for its intelligent structure, stunning acting and sophisticated story, in which tension and emotion are used to reverse social stereotypes. See more here

A few thumbnail pics of the awards can be seen here.

There was a distinct christmassy feeling in the air, the frost beginning to settle in, the lights were up in Cork and the smell of burning log fires. The whole atmosphere was very warm, welcoming and festive, as were all the festival hosts. The jury members mentioned what a high calibre of films were at this year's festival, so we were very proud indeed to receive this award. They also mentioned how incredibly sophisticated the films made with support of The Irish Film Board were, so someone somewhere is doing some very good work!
